A Spa Basket for Charity: A Few of My Favorite Things!

I work with the Boys and Girls Club of Burbank each month. I teach them Broadway Style Jazz and actually have a official DANCE TEAM (yay!).

Last year the girls placed in the TOP TEN out of 800 National Submissions in a National Talent Contest.

This year, they WON! They are flying to New Orleans all expenses paid mid May to perform, “All That Jazz” number. (Happy dance, happy dance & Smiles!)
Their big Charity Event for the Club is on Saturday, May 7th 2011. I wanted to donate a basket for the event and I decided besides the BASIC Gift Certificate, I would give it a theme.

So these are a few of my favorite things! I hope you enjoy the list as much as the winner!

9. Epicuren lip balm, my lips love this EVERY nite.

10. China Glaze Nail Polish, my fav – this brand lasts!

11. Tip Essentials makeup removers, great for those m/u oops or cleaning.

12.  Margarita Bloom’s Cabana Boy roll on Parfume – I wear it every DAY!

Charity in a new way.. Candy Bar

Linda my stylist came up with a picture the other week.  It was a BEAUTIFUL table from a party with a decorated candy bar.  I hadn’t heard of these before, but it was BEAUTIFUL!

We decided to put together one at the spa and host our monthly charity fundraising there.  The month of April is AUTISM SPEAKS.  So turquoise & blues (Easter colors were perfect!)

I was so fortunate to have beautiful homemade soaps donated by Lather Soap Company

And homemade bookmarks and ebook bands from Megs Marks.

ALL PROCEEDS from the table go directly to the Charity.

I am donating all my TIPS for the Month to the Charity.

So even though I am in the beauty business, who is to say being creative and spreading awareness isn’t an important part of BEAUTY?

Everyone loves the display and of course the candy..

Giving is Beauty; Beauty that Gives

For my the 1st of April is my spring! It’s time for me to freshen up my skincare, haircare & makeup products.

Got my hair sunscreen and color protecting moisturizing RUSK shampoo.
Picked a few new lip tints from Burts Bees to add to my collection.
Refilled my Epicuren Collagen night serum and grabbed a new container of my Micro daily exfoliant from Dermalogica.

After opening the Dermalogica package this is what I found. “JOIN the Fite.” I LOVE this. Beauty giving back! It’s what I do, why I do what I do..

So I grab the box insert and I run to the computer and type in the code. You can choose what time of business to help, what area or country and it breaks down the variety of businesses & people you will directly be helping. You can make an additional donation and help business fund their needs through microloans. As a business owner, I think this new concept (website launched Jan. 2011) to touch other businesses around the world is brilliant!) Please check it out and click on the link above. Now I am off to create my own Charity Bar at my spa. Candy with donations and items all to benefit a charity (changes monthly) this month, Autism Speaks.
