A New Year, let’s review..

Happy NEW YEAR!  I would like to introduce myself to you.  Some of you are new and I would like to say HI!:

I’m Michelle Bouse.  I am a reformed Jersey Girl (born & raised), who followed her heart & moved to California in 1998 – but I’m not your typical California girl.  I am a retired professional dancer over 40 who’s second career is Beauty.  I love giving back, inspiring others, chocolate is my weakness and I’m addicted to tea & newly found love – Yoga.

I have the gift of seeing beauty in everything, everyone & making people feel good.. and feel it’s my job to share.

2015 is a BIG Beauty year for me.. I am celebrating 15 years (what?! how is that possible) as a industry make-up artist and 10 years (is this even possible) as an esthetician.  I can’t believe it.  These days people call me a beauty expert.

Last year I was on The Doctors tv show twice, my second Lifestyle Lift commercial aired as an expert with Debby Boone and I finished my final certification for Volume Lash extensions.  One of my clients won her second emmy, a bunch of clients got married, had babies and appeared all over TV!  I also expanded the boutique with certifying Linda as a OUIDAD Curly hair expert, carrying the product line exclusively and introducing the boutique closet, carrying clothing.  (Not to mention my Boys and Girls Club team won a trip to Nationals for their 4th year in a row).

One of the BEST beauty introductions was THE BEAUTY BOOKENDS with my beauty best friend & fellow celebrity make-up artist, Dia Dibble.  We started shooting short YouTube videos for anyone over 40 looking for beauty tips.  We have had a wonderful response and requested live appearances.. so we will continue the videos every month in 2015.

But why should you stop by here and say Hi? (hmmmm)  Well, I like meeting new people, like to talk and have a bunch of beautiful things to share.  I hope to see you here again and would love to hear about your beauty successes, questions and inspirations.

Here’s to a New Year filled with beautiful possibilities..

Crazy 4 Curls

I love lashes.  Linda loves hair.. together we ROCK CURLS!

EYELASHES

If you are not into lash extensions creating gorgeous natural curls.. Or maybe you have great natural lashes.. You NEED a Lash Curler.  This is the ONLY one you will ever need!

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

PicsArt

I have used this for years!  I have one at home and one in my makeup kit and they have each lasted me almost 15 years! (great beauty investment)

1.  Start at the base of your eye with curler.. fit into eye pocket and gently pulse curler a few times.

2.  Continue to open and close curler and walk up lash – gently squeezing all the way up to increase curl.

3.  Straighter lashes can get a great lift by focusing curl just at the base of the lash.

4.  Change the silicone pad when curler starts cutting into pad and loosing bounce.

5.  Never use curler on lashes with mascara applied.  You can break your lashes.

HAIR

imagesCurly hair needs extra TLC to tame the curls.  Everyone’s curls are different.. that is why sometimes it is frustrating to try and figure out what’s best for your hair.  This is where we come in.. meet OUIDAD.

photo copy photo  We have a line with products for ALL types of Curls!  Let Linda style your hair and teach you how simple it is to get these gorgeous curls that will last for days!  (Picture above is 3 Ouidad products & a diffuser.. that is all!)

Dry curls, we have moisture.. frizzy curls we have control..

Linda and I LOVE our curls and we LOVE this line. (Certified Cutting Techique coming in March)

Eyelashes or Hair..

WE ROCK CURLS.. LET US ROCK YOURS!

C is for Commit

Ask any artist the first “C” word that comes to mind – I bet it is Create.  When I sat down at the beginning of the year that is what I wrote down for my “C”.  Now it’s a month into the year, and I find another word not only in my mind, but on my heart..

Commitment – Saying something and holding true to your word.

Commit – Trying something new or uncomfortable (outside your box) and just going for it!

NEVER underestimate the power of words.  We have all been hurt but them, excited by them, let down by them or inspired by them.  I work with a lot of teenagers and I try to be very conscious of following through with what I say.  I don’t want to disappoint them by promising something & forgetting.  I hope to inspire them by showing them not only the power of a promise, but weight of a commitment.

imageTeachers, coaches and mentors are in a position to influence & inspire.   I have been blessed to re-connect with some of my most favorite mentors & teachers throughout my life, and yet again as an adult (gotta love Facebook).  I took the opportunity to say THANK YOU to them for their commitment & encouragement. They made a great difference in my life and I am sure in many others.  I have not forgotten.  It’s usually the little things we don’t think about that can make a HUGE difference.

____________________________________________________________

I am committed to encouraging & inspiring youth every day, whenever I can.  I hope one day to be someone they can come back to with gratitude.  I do it not for the hope of a thank you,  I do it because I know my commitment, love & encouragement will make a difference!

I also commit to trying new things this year. Why not?  What do I have to lose?  Don’t like it, check it off and I don’t do it again.

For my business, I commit to sharing & encouraging the “Be-Loved” theme throughout this entire month.  Not only does it allow me to create some great treatments & blends (for the artist in me), it allows me to pay attention to “the little things..”

Besides, who couldn’t use a little more LOVE?
